A devastating fire broke out at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, at around 14:51 local time on November 26, 2025.
Public video footage showed intense flames engulfing the scaffolding on the exterior wall of Wang Cheong House, with the fire reaching several stories high. Dense smoke billowed into the sky, and some building materials were seen falling. Due to the fierce blaze, the Fire Services Department of the HKSAR government raised the alert to No. 5 alarm fire at 6:22 p.m. local time. As of 06:50 on November 27, 2025, the fire has claimed 44 lives and left 58 people injured. Rescue operations were still ongoing.
