We’ve all wondered what it’s like to die. Now there’s a game that can fulfill our curiosity(好奇心), without actually killing us. “4D Experience of Death” is an awful “escape room” game that uses special skills to bring players close to what its creators imagine is an experience of death.
It will open in Shanghai in September 2014, it will invite volunteers to compete in some challenges to keep away from “dying”. Losers get cremated(火葬). The faux cremator will use hot air and light projections(投射)to create what the organizers call “a real experience of burning.” After they are cremated, volunteers are sent to a soft, round room, meaning their rebirth.” What about the winner? “He’ll also have to die of course,” says the creator Ding Rui. As in life, he explains, “everyone will die one day, no matter what they’ve experienced.”
Huang is also interested in death. He was a successful businessman before. “China made me rich, but it didn’t teach me how to live a rich life. I was lost,” he says. He went on to study psychology(心理学)and volunteered to help in the earthquake of Sichuan Province, lunching Hand in Hand later. “It opened a new door for me – I went there to help but I was also saved.” He began to know the meaning to life. Huang and Ding both have the same interest, so they create the “4D Experience of Death” together.
