A girl who was called China’s fattest person has an operation at a Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital(中日联谊医院) in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province.
Xiao Wei, 25, weighed 95kg when she was in high school. When she graduated from college, she got another 50 kg. Before the surgery(外科手术), she weighed 244kg.
Looking back at her weight problem, Xiao explains that she used to eat a lot, two or three times more than other children. For example, she likes meat and beer, and she could eat 3 kilos(公斤) of meat and two boxes of beer at one time.
Xiao Wei’s situation kept getting worse as she became fatter and fatter, such as moving and breathing. Last year she couldn’t even sleep on the bed and could only sit down to sleep, or her heart felt bad.
The doctor Jiang Tao in the hospital said, “It is quite difficult for us to do an operation on her because she is too fat. And she even can’t move her legs.”
But now, Xiao has had a successful operation and she’s happy about the results. She said, “I feel very good after the surgery and I’m more confident than I used to be.”
