At a certain age, lots of women find tired to be a mother, but not Nina Keneally from Brooklyn. The 63-year-old woman still has lots of mothering skills that she’s happy to rent out(出租) through a special service called “Need A Mom”. Nina now spends all her time using her experience to help young people in New York. She will listen to all your problems, give advice, help you plan and shop for a dinner party, bake you a cake and do all kinds of other things that a real mother might do. She’ll even buy a present for your own mother.
Nina and her husband moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn, from Connecticut with their own two sons two years ago. She realized that young people were different in many ways. “As I started to live in the neighborhood, I noticed that a lot of young people in the neighborhood wanted to talk to me about what was going on in their lives.” Nina realized she could really help them by being a mother in their lives. And that’s how “Need A Mom” was born. It’s a new business, and about six people bought her service so far, all from Bushwick. What Nina does for you will cost $40 an hour. But she said, “Don’t expect me to clean your bedroom or wash your clothes. I’m not your maid!”
