A women-only bus service in Zhengzhou, the capital of Central China’s Henan Province, has caused a hot discussion online. The local bus company says it will protect women from being harassed when wearing less clothing in summer and also help breastfeeding mothers feel comfortable.

I live in Japan, and some subway lines in Japan have women-only carriages(车厢) running in the rush hours. Women are free to choose between women-only and mixed carriages while the trains are moving. Sometimes, when you’re running to catch the train, guys enter the women-only cars, but so long as you move through to a mixed car right away, there’s no problem.
Andy (Mexico)
I live in Mexico City and I use the women-only metro every day. I do not think that such a thing is necessary, but in a crowded(拥挤的) carriage at peak-hour I do not have to worry about somebody groping, but I only worry about keeping my balance(平衡).
Lucy (USA)
I think the buses can get less crowded. And let us be fair: it is not only just a necessity for the benefit of women and girls, it also raises the level of safety for the rest of us.
