We arrived in Xingcheng and left for Qinhuangdao in the afternoon. It was raining heavily. We were on the expressway(高速公路). I kept the speed(速度) less than 100 kilometers per hour. We got to Qinhuangdao in the late afternoon. We booked a hotel room. It was a normal room with a large bed, air conditioner(空调), a TV and a toilet. ¥150 or so was enough for that.
The next morning, it only took us less than 30 minutes to get to the beach. Police officers were everywhere. They guided our traffic. 20 yuan was needed for parking. I paid some money for the lifebuoy, because none of us could swim. The water was not too deep near the beach, and with a lifebuoy I could float(漂浮) on the water. I taught my wife how to use the lifebuoy, although it was also my first time to use it. My daughter was very interested in the sand. She played with the sand with all her attention. The environment in Beidaihe was fine, although it was not very clean. And we all had a good time.
In the evening we visited a shopping street near Beidaihe. There were a lot of people shopping and eating. Of course, we had some sea food there, too.
