When I was shopping a few months ago, I saw a man trying to get people to donate to a very well known charity, a children's charity. I explained that I can't give out my personal details anymore due to my bank account being hacked(被攻击) last year. It was a terrible time and took months to get back our money.
Last week I had been out and came home on a really hot day. My husband Stewart was at the table with a person from a charity having a cold drink. We chatted for a while and then I said, "I know you!" He looked at me and said, "You're the lovely lady that bought me a big lunch and drinks when I was at shops trying to get people to donate. "We both laughed and I caught his hand and we had a little hug.
He told me that he had let the organizers know about this lovely woman helping him out on a cold day. He said it was so unexpected. I was so thrilled to see him again, sitting in my home. The point is that we never know how we affect people when we do these random acts of kindness and this act had really moved him for the kindness of it.
So I now know that what I do does affect others. It was a lovely connection. So I loved the fact that Stewart had invited him in out of the heat for a cold drink. This kindness thing is so catching.
