A man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a whole roll(卷) of gold wrapping(包装，包裹) paper. The child tried to use the paper to wrap a box to put under the Christmas tree. Money was tight(拮据的) and the father became angry. But the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.”
The man’s face went red for his earlier action. But his anger went up again when he found the box empty. He shouted at her, “Don’t you know when you give someone a gift, there should be something inside?” The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, “No, Daddy, it’s not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They’re all for you, Daddy.”
The father’s face went red again. He put his arms around his little girl, and he asked for her forgiveness.
Not long after that, an accident took the life of the girl. The father kept that gold box by his bed for many years. When he was sad, he would take out a kiss and remember the love of his daughter who had put it there.
