The first authentic Lanzhou beef hand-pulled noodles restaurant opened in Auckland, New Zealand, adding new flavor to the local food scene, China News reported. A strategic(战略的) cooperation agreement was signed on July 4 by the New Zealand China International Trade Association Inc. and Jinweide Beef Noodle Co, a chain that specializes(专门从事) in Lanzhou beef noodles.
To ensure the noodles keep their original flavor, the chefs and main ingredients used in the dish, such as a special chili oil, are all from Lanzhou, said chairman of the enterprise(企业) Liang Shunjian, adding that they plan to open at least 20 beef noodle restaurants in New Zealand over the next two years.
Jim He, president of the association, disclosed that the agreement also includes chef training in New Zealand. The agreement states that in addition, a beef hand-pulled noodles culture institute will be set up in New Zealand to allow more people around the world to learn about food culture in northwest China.
