On the outskirts of Tianjin, a group of passengers are waiting at the bus stop. Here comes the bus. It’s black-and-white, like a giant panda. After getting on the bus, people buy their tickets by scanning their hands. About one minute later, the bus changes to self-driving mode. It stops for lights automatically before it parks at the next stop. “It’s very convenient,” says one passenger. “And kids love it.”
The “Panda Bus” was developed by DeepBlue Technology. It’s already operating in ten cities across China. The company’s goal is to reach ten more cities by the end of this year. DeepBlue has also begun selling “Panda Buses” to foreign countries, such as Greece and Thailand. Smart buses are no longer the technology of the future. Would you like to take a ride on a “Panda Bus”?
