Did you see the new film The Queen’s Corgis? Do you know the real story of the Queen and her corgis?
Corgis are a kind of dogs. The Queen began to love corgis when she was a little girl. It all started in 1933. Her father first introduced a corgi into the family. His name was Dookie. Then, on her 18th birthday, the Queen got her own corgi. She called her Susan.
People said that Susan started a corgi “dynasty”. Many of the Queen’s corgis were Susan’s descendants. For more than 80 years, the Queen was often surrounded by corgis. She had over 30 corgis at that time. She always spent time with the pets. She took them when travelling. They were her family.
Last year, the Queen lost the last one of her corgis, Willow. The corgi dynasty ended. But she will always remember the happy times with them.
