Finley is six years old. He can hold six tennis balls in his mouth, more than any dog has ever done, and we want you to know that in our eyes he is the champion of the world. The world record is held by a fellow golden dog named Augie. It managed five back in 2003. Augie did a good job, but we do have to recognize that six is a bigger number than five.
Finley lives in New York with his parents Cheri and Rob Molloy. They noticed that he had the potential to break the record when he reached two years old. They say the first three or four go down easily. It's a piece of cake. But for the fifth and sixth balls, he uses his paws. When he has collected them all, he wags his tail to make sure you're paying attention.
Cheri and Rob's daughter Erin did her research and realized that their dog was the best in the world at his hobby. She was in contact with officials to have it recognized, but the people at the Guinness World Records said he hasn't yet met the requirements. The humans with the big books might not recognize you Finley, but you'll always be our number one.
