When Bianca Caroline Soares, who takes an active part in the protection of the environment, was on a walk near her home in Paraguay, she found a hummingbird(蜂鸟) nest unlike any other that she had seen before. The small building looked like a traditional nest, but it had one extra thing —a leaf roof. Lying on the side of the home, the leaf provided enough shade as the hummingbird stayed in her wonderful work.
Soares is a photography lover who has been watching the nests of hummingbirds since 2018. It wasn’t until September 2019, however, that she happened upon the special nest and took some pictures. She continued to watch it in the weeks and months following her first sighting. The hummingbird went on to have two chicks, and Soares was able to capture the three under one roof. The nest expanded to fit the new life and the leaf was able to cover them all.
By discovering, photographing, and sharing this special hummingbird nest, Soares hopes that it inspires others to respect and care for nature while doing what we can to help reduce the bad effects of climate change.
