Like many people, Hong Kong singer Eason Chan has had a painful experience during the pandemic. The 46-year-old singer had to put off touring and the release of a new song this year due to the pandemic. He is getting used to the new lifestyle of spending more time with his family and dogs as well as exercising every day.
When he decided to release his first new song of this year, Chan wanted to share his feelings about the experience during the pandemic and most importantly, to tell people that "you are not alone". The new song, named A Dance For Tomorrow, was released on Oct 21. "When I first listened to the song, I loved it at once. It is so relaxing and beautiful that I wanted to dance to it," says Chan during an interview he did from his home in Hong Kong before the song was released. "It's very lucky to have such a song, especially during this situation. It can make people happier though there are the worries we still have about the pandemic."
Though the pandemic has made Chan to stop working for nearly a year, the singer has worked as a volunteer, hoping to cheer people up with music. "When bad things happen, we turn to music to seek help. Music has the magic to keep people together. I am glad that I could be of some help," he says.
