"I wish my parents can stop fighting and live together in peace with each other. Then we can have a sweet dinner." Fang Haojie, 12, lives with his grandmother. His parents work in a bicycle factory in Changzhou, and will only come back home at Spring Festival. Fang’s grandmother, who is blind, is now in poor health.
"I wish I could buy a video recorder to record the happy times I spend with my family." Wang Yuzhu, 11, has an older brother who studies in a local junior high school. Both of her parents work in Shanghai.
"I wish to visit the place where my older sister lives and works." Xue Ni, 13, lives with her parents and younger brother. Her father is a farmer and her sister works outside the province. "The yearly income for my family is not very much but we can afford school," Xue said.
"I wish there could be less rubbish in the streets and the air could be cleaner." Ni Zijing, 13, and her brother live with their grandparents. Their parents both work outside the city and their mother visits them sometimes.
