On Saturday, Emma Lyon was watching a boat race in the River Great Ouse. As usual, she was wearing her grandmother’s wedding ring. The ring is about 100 years old.
“I cheered for a group of boys vigorously. Suddenly(突然), the ring flew off my finger(手指) and into the river,” Emma said. “The boys won their race, but the ring was lost.”
On Sunday evening, Emma asked a diving club for help. And the next evening, the club found the ring and returned it to Emma. Emma took the divers out for a drink to thank them. “The ring was my grandmother’s. And she gave it to me in 2000 at the age of 100. I really thank everyone from the club for helping me,” said Emma.
