In 2016, Linda lost her oldest daughter. She was so grieved that she moved to another city. One day, she met three girls who were living with a foster(寄养的) family in the neighbourhood. They were congenial(意气相投的) and became friends later.
A few years later, when the girls were going to be put in different foster families, they turned to Linda for help. The oldest girl had just turned 18 and could live on her own. Linda quickly welcomed the younger two girls into her home. Unexpectedly, the girls arrived at her home with a rubbish bag! “There were only a few clothes in the bag, which even didn’t fit them! It really broke my heart!” said Linda. The first thing Linda and her husband did was take the girls shopping.
The girls were so glad when they got their new clothes. That made Linda think about other foster kids who aren’t as fortunate(幸运的). She wanted to give them a hand, too.
Linda then came up with the idea of opening a shop offering free clothes. Last December, Linda carried out the idea. She opened a shop. It is called Blossom. It gives out free clothes to anyone in need. At Blossom, families can pick up seven full sets of clothes and shoes for free.
Linda hopes that getting new clothes will bring foster children more happiness. Linda says if the shop is successful, she hopes to add an education center to help foster kids study.
