Anthony Perry, 20, is being praised as a hero for jumping into action to save someone who fell off a platform(站台) onto train tracks(轨道). The man was unconscious. He was in a state similar to sleep at that time. “The guy didn’t have control of his body so I decided to help him at once,” Perry said.
With the help of another person, Perry performed CPR(心肺复苏) as he waited for medical workers to arrive. The man who fell off the platform onto train tracks was taken to the hospital and is expected to continue to live.
After about a day and a half, Perry’s life mostly went back to normal. Then he received a call from Early Walker, the founder of the group I’m Telling Don’t Shoot. Walker and his wife had seen a video of the heroic(英勇的) act on social media, but they could find little information on who the hero was. After digging for a couple of days, they finally found him.
Walker learned that Perry used all his money to buy an old car, but the car went broken soon, and Walker had been relying on public transportation ever since. So, he decided to surprise him with a car for his heroic actions. Perry said the car would make his life easier. His daily commute from his home to his working place will be cut from over an hour to around 30 minutes.
