Randy Waites was watching TV at home. But when the news reporter interviewed(采访) a man named Eddie Waites, he couldn’t help but wonder if the two of them were brothers. He seldom sees someone with his last name spelled in the same way. Randy turned to his daughter, Cambria, for help.

“I saw Eddie on TV and he actually looked a lot like my dad in the eyes,” Cambria said. “I did my research, searched up his name, looked up all I could.” Then she helped them get in touch. After a phone call, they found that they were brothers.

Getting to know each other on the phone was amazing, but nothing could compare to the moment when they finally got to meet in person! They planned for it to happen on Randy’s son’s 13th birthday, the perfect time for Dalton Waites to meet his new uncle.

The two of them have a lot in common, including love for fishing. But before they plan their first fishing trip together, their families still have quite a lot of catching up to do. “Spending as much time with this person as possible,” Eddie said. “Filling him in on all the gaps(空白) he’s had in his life, and the gaps I’ve had in my life.”
