Congratulations on becoming a senior high school student! The next problem is your school life. And a big source of anxiety in senior high school focuses on who will be your roommates. This situation can be one of the most stressful parts of your senior high school experience. We have put together a guideline that will help you deal with the roommate situation.
Communicate The Boundaries That Are Important to You
There are some things that you will not be able to compromise(妥协). Communicate them clearly and make sure that your roommates respect the space that you need. If you have specific expectations about your room, just let them know as soon as you can. If you like it quiet after 10 p.m., or you don’t like having a lot of guests over, your roommates should know. Think about what’s most important to you and be ready to learn what’s important to them. If you’re reasonable with their requests, they’re more likely to accommodate your requests as well.
Spend Time And Do Things Together
When you first arrive at your high school, your roommate might be the person you’re closest to in the school. If you want to go shopping or go to a club meeting, see if your roommate wants to come. Having a friend at new events makes things much less intimidating. Then you will be more relaxed and comfortable.
If something about your roommate’s situation isn’t working for you, be honest with your roommate. If you talk about it, it’s a lot easier to figure things out than if you just think about it. Come to your roommate with an open mind, but don’t lie if you feel upset about something. You should both always feel comfortable in your room.
