How often do you wash your winter coats? The answer depends on how often you wear each coat and the material it’s made of.
Wool(羊毛织物)and leather(皮革) coats
Wool and leather coats should be laundered at least once per season. If you wear them often, wash them twice per season. So, wash it once around early November and again in late January to make sure it’s clean enough to last through early March.
Rain jackets
Rain jackets needn’t to be cleaned too often, because you only wear those when the weather is bad. If you live in a rainy area, wash them twice a month. If not, clean them once a month. Make sure the jacket is zipped up(拉上拉链) when you wash it.
Fleece(摇粒绒) jackets
Wash fleece jackets after six to seven wears. (Of course, if you notice them getting dirty faster, wash them sooner than that.) Wash fleece jackets before ever wearing them, and wash them as often as once a week if you’re wearing them often. Be sure to dry fleece jackets on a line to keep them soft.
Down coats(羽绒服)
Wash down coats twice a season at least. It often takes a long time for down coats to become dry. Use some dryer balls to fluff them back up while they dry, but remove them while they’re still a bit wet and hang them to dry the rest of the way.
