It was a quiet morning. Kyrie, a mom-to-be, took her dog for a walk around her neighborhood. She didn’t get far before she saw something troublesome at the house next to hers.
Her neighbor’s 2-year-old son was throwing things out of a second-floor window. Kyrie was very worried. She stopped and noticed the child coming dangerously close to falling out of the window. Kyrie ran to the door and tried to warn an adult inside the home, but no one answered.
Kyrie knew she couldn’t just walk away. She quickly returned home and called the police from her phone. To her fear, when she returned, the little guy had fallen out! He was hanging there by his fingers! “I stood right under him just in case,” she recalled as she held back tears. “And I was shouting...The window was open, so I was hoping that someone might hear me.”
After a few painful moments, the child lost his control of his fingers and fell. Luckily, Kyrie was in the perfect place at the perfect time! Kyrie managed to catch the boy just before he would have hit the ground. She kept the scared child in her coat until the police arrived.
The boy’s mother finally came out of the house. The police are surveying why she left her child alone. Kyrie is just glad she was there at the right moment. She can’t help thinking what would happen if she came a few seconds too late.
While this was undoubtedly a terrible moment for this mom-to-be, it could have been so much worse. We’re thankful that Kyrie was there, and that she was able to be the angel this baby needed in this moment. Something tells us she’s going to be a very wonderful mother!
