Video footage has caught the moment when a dog chases after a car that knocked down its motorcyclist owner at a busy crossing in China. The video was captured on May 24 in Zhangjiagang, China's Jiangsu Province by the traffic cameras equipped to observe the traffic.
The dog chased after the vehicle and stood in front of it until the driver got out and checked on the woman. The woman on an electric bike can be seen crossing the road when she was suddenly hit by a car. Both the bike and the woman fell to the ground. Seconds later a small dog appeared from under the bike.
The black pooch quickly ran after the car which had stopped on the other side of the busy road. It stood in front of the vehicle until the driver stepped out. The dog then followed the car closely as he made his way over to the woman on the floor.
The woman suffered a little on the leg but no life threatening injuries. She told reporters that she had owned the dog for several years and it had always been protective towards her. And she says she will thank her dog for what the dog has done.
According to the research, one in every 13 people in China is a pet owner with dogs and cats accounting for around 80 percent of the total. China's bureau of national statistics said in 2016 that the number of registered dogs in China stood at 27.4 million.
