In Ukraine, a 78-year-old woman lives in a small village. A river stops her from shopping. She has to walk several kilometres for 30 minutes, or she can use a flying trough(水槽). Fifty years ago, the woman’s husband invented it.
On the trough, it takes only five minutes to cross the river. The woman says that she used not to be afraid of the river, but she is afraid now because the river’s is 4 to 5 metres deep. She added that if she fell before, she would be injured, but she knew that she could get to the riverbank. She worries that she would not be strong enough now.
The local government plans to build a bridge near her home.
