玉兔的故事

Once upon a time, the Jade Emperor (玉帝) went to Earth as an old man. In the forest, he met a fox, a rabbit, and a monkey. He asked for some food. The monkey and fox quickly found food. But the rabbit couldn’t find any. It jumped into the fire. It wanted to offer itself as food. The Jade Emperor was moved (感动的). He gave the rabbit a job to make special pills. The rabbit worked hard and became good at it.

One day, the Queen Mother of the West asked for more of the pills. The rabbit gave her one. Later, the Jade Emperor knew it and was angry with him. The rabbit chose to live alone in the Moon Palace with Chang’e.
