蹴鞠:传承千年的“中国足球”

A long time ago in China, there was a game like football called “cuju”. It started about 2,500 years ago.

This sport was popular during the Warring States Period. At that time, cuju served as a way to train soldiers.

In the Han Dynasty, more people played cuju. It was liked by the Han emperor Wu Di and other rich people. There were rules for the sport during this period, so it was more organized.

In the Song Dynasty, cuju was very popular. People from all walks of life played it. Some played for the emperor, and others played for money. In big cities, there were clubs for cuju lovers and players.

However, in the Ming Dynasty, cuju started to disappear. People forgot about it.
