Nearly six years ago, a doctor placed his hand on the back of Suzannah Wish (Canada) back and found she had a hunchback (驼背). The curve at the base of her neck would cause pain and limit her movement, so he suggested the 78-year-old woman join a gym and work on her health.
Yet less than a decade later, Suzannah has done far more than get better from her problem — she has become a Guinness World Records title holder with an amazing fitness achievement.
On 9 June, 2025, at the age of 84 years and 296 days, Suzannah became the oldest person to do a plank (平板支撑) (female) ever, taking the title from the then 82-year-old Sarah Blackman (USA).
And to make her achievement even more impressive, the senior held the position for an amazing seven minutes — a difficult task many young athletes would struggle to do!
“I feel very lucky and grateful at this age to be competing for this title,” Suzannah told GWR, adding that the experience was even more meaningful because she was able to do it without her hunchback.
Everyone taking part was excited to see this happen.
