Honor’s humanoid robot Yuanqizai will compete in the Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon on April 19, making it the first robot marathon competitor from a major global consumer electronics brand. A video released by Honor shows the robot displaying natural and agile arm swings and gait during testing. Honor has even fitted it with a pair of running shoes to resemble a human runner more closely. Another Honor robot, Shandian, will also participate. The 21.0975-kilometer course starts at Kechuang 17th Street by Tongming Lake in Yizhuang, Beijing, and finishes at Nanhaizi Park, incorporating urban trunk roads, international motor racing sections, and park ecological landscapes.

The event is themed “Yi Ma Dang Xian”. In addition to the standard half-marathon competition, special awards will be presented, including the Best Endurance Award, Best Gait Award, Best Design Award, and Best Perception Award. These awards are designed to drive technological breakthroughs in long-duration endurance, humanoid motion, and dynamic environmental adaptation. The organizing committee stated that it will assist outstanding teams that complete the full race under fully autonomous operation to apply for a Guinness World Records certification.
