The recipients of the 2026 China Youth May Fourth Medal and the New Era Youth Pioneer Honorary Title were unveiled on April 27. A total of 29 individuals including Zhi Deyuan were awarded the China Youth May Fourth Medal, and 30 collectives such as the youth team of Shanghai’s “Mosuku Space” Large Model Innovation Ecosystem Community won the China Youth May Fourth Medal Collectives. In addition, 749 people including Diao Xinyu were conferred the title of New Era Youth Pioneer.
The awardees come from diverse sectors including scientific research, advanced manufacturing, medical and health services, and rural revitalization. The list features outstanding individuals such as critical care medicine expert Zhi Deyuan, aviation manufacturing skilled expert Yang Guoxin and tech entrepreneur Peng Zhihui, as well as exemplary collectives including the emergency launch research team for the Long March 2F carrier rocket of China’s Manned Space Program and the youth commando teams at national polar research stations.
