The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of China’s most beloved traditional holidays. This year, it falls on September 25. Recently, the Bowers Museum in California, the US, held a large celebration.
Visitors enjoyed many activities. There were Chinese music and dance shows, a fashion show, tea ceremonies and kung fu shows. People could also watch videos about giant pandas and white dolphins, try Chinese paper-cutting and traditional printing, and even put on traditional Chinese attire, such as hanfu and qipao, for photos.
Tianlong Jiao, a museum director, said events like the Mid-Autumn Festival give local people a fun, easy way to learn about Chinese culture. “We hope people in the US can have a better understanding of Chinese culture through such events, and these experiences can help build connections between different cultures,” he said.
The Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the full moon, which means family reunion and harmony. The Bowers Museum, opened in 1936, has eight halls, and one of them focuses on China. It often works with museums in China.

1.1. What could visitors do at the events?
A Watch videos about pandas.
B Sell mooncakes to people.
C Make kung fu films.
D Dance with white dolphins.
解析:选A。 People could also watch videos about giant pandas and white dolphins,游客可以观看大熊猫的影片,故选A。 故选A。
2.2. The underlined word “attire” in Paragraph 2 probably means ____.
A 食物
根据第二段的“put on traditional Chinese attire, such as hanfu and qipao, for photos”可知,人们可以穿上传统中国服饰,如汉服和旗袍来拍照。
3.3. Why did the Bowers Museum hold such events according to Jiao?
A To make the museum famous.
B To sell more mooncakes.
C To teach visitors kung fu.
D To help people know China better.
We hope people in the US can have a better understanding of Chinese culture through such events,由此可推断,办这类活动是想帮人们更好地了解中国,故选D。A(出名)、B(卖月饼)、C(教功夫)文中均未提及其为办活动目的,属无中生有。故选D。
4.4. What can we infer about the Bowers Museum?
A It has a long history.
B It shows only Chinese art.
C It was opened in 2026.
D It never works with China.
解析:选A。 B说“只展出中国艺术”,但“末段明确has eight halls, and one focuses on China”,中国展厅只是八个中的一间,属以偏概全;C“2026 年开馆”与原文1936年相反,颠倒是非;D“从不与中国合作”与末段“often works with museums in China”正好相反,颠倒是非。故选A。
5.5. What is the best title for the passage?
A The History of a Museum.
B Mooncakes and Chinese Tea.
C Festival Fun at a US Museum.
D How to Make Mooncakes.
Festival Fun at a US Museum最贴切。
