Sept 27 – The women’s javelin throw final of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 was held. China’s 18-year-old Yan Ziyi claimed the gold medal with her first throw of 70.46 metres, breaking the Asian Games record and beating Japan’s Haruka Kitaguchi. Yan skipped her remaining attempts after the opening throw to secure the title. Her mark improved the previous Asian Games record by 4.37 metres.
