Every year, TIME makes a list of the world’s most interesting places. This year, the list is all about exciting trips. After you read it, email us at tfkeditors@time.com and tell us which place you like best.
Grand Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt.
See 7,000 years of history in one place. The museum is full of things from long ago. Every item from King Tut’s tomb is here. The Pyramids of Giza are near, and visitors can walk there.
Huajiang Canyon Bridge, China.
In Guizhou, this bridge is 2,050 feet high. It goes over a deep canyon (峡谷) between two mountains. There is a glass path on it, and you can look straight down at the river far below. Most people stop there and go back. Only brave visitors dare to walk on the glass path.
Murujuga, Australia.
In Western Australia, this place has very old rock pictures. Some are 50,000 years old, and some show animals that people cannot see today.
Reefline, the USA.
Reefline is an art park under the sea in Miami Beach, Florida. Visitors can swim through the art and see sea animals. Some people call it a “mermaid playground” (美人鱼游乐场).

1.1. What can visitors see in the Grand Egyptian Museum?
A Old things.
B A glass path.
C Rock pictures.
D Sea animals.
解析:选A。 根据 Grand Egyptian Museum 部分“See 7,000 years of history in one place. The museum is full of things from long ago. Every item from King Tut’s tomb is here.” 故选A。
2.2. What does the underlined word “dare” mean in Chinese?
A 害怕
Most people stop there and go back.(大多数人到此就折返),与本句中 Only(只有)和 brave(勇敢的)形成的对比,可推知dare表示的意思是“敢于”。
3.3. What can visitors see at BOTH Murujuga and Reefline?
A Old bridges.
B Art.
C Mountains.
D Glass paths.
Murujuga 有非常古老的岩石画,岩石画可以归为艺术;Reefline 明确说是“an art park under the sea”,游客可以“swim through the art”。
4.4. Why did the writer write this text?
A To sell tickets for a museum.
B To teach people about old kings.
C To ask people to swim in the sea.
D To share some travel ideas.
