Tesla unveiled its second-generation Roadster after a nine-year wait. The vehicle performed stunts such as inverted climbing and mid-air rolls at the launch. Equipped with a cold-air thruster system co-developed with SpaceX, it will go into production in 2028, Elon Musk confirmed. Three variants are offered. The street-legal Performance version, the only one available for preorders on Tesla’s Chinese website, requires a refundable deposit of 332,000 yuan. The Thrust and Rocket editions with thrusters are restricted to closed venues. The Rocket variant allows short liftoff with limited flight time. Its launch in China is subject to relevant regulations.
