Xianghai National Nature Reserve (向海国家自然保护区) is home to birds. It is in Jilin Province, northeastern China. In 1986, it became a national nature reserve.

They searched for food, even with bird lovers just 20 meters away,” he added.

This change is the result of China’s long efforts to protect birds. In 1983, the Nature Reserve made a survey of the whole area and more than 210 kinds of animals were found. In 2021, the Nature Reserve finished building a smart platform (平台). Since then, new technologies have been used to keep an eye on bird activity, weather conditions and so on. Thanks to these efforts, the local environment has truly improved and these birds are showing their trust with their wings.
