It has invented the ProtoCycler, which can turn waste plastic, such as bottles, into plastic that can be used in a 3D printer.

Last year, the Brazil team used 3D printing to help a poor tortoise (陆龟), Freddy. A forest fire had burned 85% of her shell, the hardest part of her back. In other words, her shell was nearly gone. The whole team worked together to give her another chance at life.

First, they took photos of Freddy and of a healthy tortoise with a complete shell. Then, they used a computer program to design a new shell that would fit her exactly. Later, an artist painted the shell so that it looked like a real one. The results were very fantastic. Freddy now lives with the people who helped save her life.
