The Double Ninth Festival, also named Chong Yang Festival, falls on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. That’s how it gets its name.

In fact, people show respect for elderly people not only on this special day but also in daily life. It has been a traditional virtue (美德) in China for centuries. What’s more, to respect the elderly today is to respect our future selves.
