On October 28, Huawei officially announced that the entire Mate 90 series will support four-SIM, three-standby functionality via an OTA update by the end of 2026, making it the world’s first smartphone series to offer this feature across its entire lineup. The devices can accommodate two physical SIM cards and two eSIMs, supporting simultaneous, independent communication on three lines, thereby breaking through the traditional limitations of dual-SIM, dual-standby.

This feature will initially be available on the top-of-the-line model and will be rolled out to the entire series following the update. It offers convenience for users with multiple phone numbers and those traveling abroad, eliminating the need for a backup phone and allowing them to activate a local eSIM directly while overseas.
