One fantastic description of a horse is the legendary (传说的) and kind qilin. It is an imaginary animal with a dragon’s head, long horns (角) and a horse-or deer-like body. ____2____ According to legend, qilin only arrives during times of great peace and happiness or when a true great man is present in the world.

Luckily, he was saved and told to wait for Tang Sanzang by a river. There, the dragon met Tang but mistook him for somebody else and ate his horse. As punishment, the dragon was turned into the White Dragon Horse and served as Tang Sanzang’s riding horse for the journey.
