We began to celebrate the first National Day on October 1, 1950. We held a wonderful ceremony on October 1, 1999. There were splendid National Day Parade, flag-raising, flag-lowering and other ceremonies in Tian’anmen Square. It was the 50th year.
Except for the official ceremonies, people organize various activities to celebrate this festival every year. People would like to go to Tian’anmen Square and watch the traditional ceremony in order to join in various activities and experience the festival atmosphere. The decorations are full of the political meaning, which conveys expectation and dream that stand for the past, present and future of China. The audiences take photos and wait for the each ceremony. For all of them, the Tian’anmen Square is the symbol of China, a political center. It is the closest point to touch China.
