When Yan was 14, his father bought a violin. Yan had four brothers, so he could hardly play it. This made him want to make his own violin. Three years later, he made his first violin. It didn’t sound perfect, but it marked the first step.

In 2014, Yan learned from professional violin makers. In 2019, he began joining lots of international violin-making competitions. In 2024, he won a big prize in America. People from 40 countries joined it.
