On Mount Huangshan in Anhui, there are 18 special workers called “spidermen”. They don’t fight bad people. They help keep the mountains clean. They pick up trash or lost phones.
Li Peisheng, 51, is one of them. He began doing this job in 1999. At first, he was scared to rappel from (绕绳滑下) high cliffs (悬崖). But he didn’t give up.
Now Li works with another person for safety. One of them checks the ropes and the other collects trash. Now fewer and fewer visitors litter.
Li believes protecting (保护) Huangshan is important for future. “I’ll keep working to let everyone enjoy our mountains!” he said.
