Chen Gang is a scientist. He studies mountains. He has climbed Qomolangma four times in the past ten years. In 2020, he helped measure (测量) its height as 8,848.86 meters. Chen Lihao is his son. He grew up watching his father work. They planned to climb Mount Qomolangma together.
The father and son trained hard for climbing. They learned to climb ice and use special tools. On April 30, 2022, they climbed Mount Qomolangma. At the mountain top, they used Chinese-made devices (设备) to measure the peak and check snow depth. They also collected ice and rock samples (样本) for scientists.
