Wang Wei lived long ago in China. He was born in the year 701. He was a great poet and painter.
Wang Wei loved nature very much. He wrote beautiful poems about mountains, rivers, and trees. He also painted pictures of them. His favorite thing to paint was snowy mountains.
When Wang Wei grew old, he lived near a river called Wheel River. There, he found peace by watching nature and studying Buddhism. Many of his best poems were written in this quiet place.
People still read Wang Wei’s poems today. They say he was as great as other famous poets like Li Bai and Du Fu.
