China started an Internet Civilization Conference in Hefei, Anhui, on June 10. It lasted two days. Government leaders, company bosses, researchers, and young people came together. They want to make the Internet safer, kinder, and more creative.
The meeting features a main forum, 14 sub-forums, and a large interactive (互动的) technology exhibition. Its theme is “Gathering Positive Energy on the Internet and Leading New Trends of the Era”. Key activities include sharing excellent cases of Internet civilization in 2025, launching a program to teach young people digital skills, and honoring 100 popular social media accounts.
Young people are a key focus, as over half of China’s Internet users are under 30. The main forum shared a youth plan for responsible online behavior. Sub-forums discussed AI rules, data safety, stopping fake news, and global Internet ethics (道德原则).
Anhui province added local culture to the event. It showed traditional buildings and opera. The opening show mixed technology with Chinese culture. Besides, the province conducts more than 8,000 educational events related to Internet civilization each year.
Beyond the conference, China is using technology to protect its cultural heritage, such as making historical videos and applying AI. The goal is to attract online attention and foster love for Chinese culture. Finally, China welcomes global teamwork to build a better online world for all.
