Phil Blair works for Muskogee Animal Control. He loves helping animals. This week, he did something amazing.

Phil got a call about a deer that was hit by a car. He rushed to the scene. Sadly, the mother deer was badly hurt and couldn’t survive. Phil also saw something move in her belly. He realized she was going to have a baby!

Quickly, Phil put on gloves and carefully helped deliver the baby deer. “I knew it needed help right away,” he said. Though Phil isn’t an animal doctor, he knew what to do. At first, the baby deer couldn’t breathe well. Phil gently cleaned its nose and body. Soon, the baby deer cried and tried to stand up — it was alive!

Phil took the baby to a wildlife docto r. Now, the baby deer is doing well. Everyone is proud of Phil.
