One rainy day in Massachusetts, a tiny raccoon (浣熊) was found alone on a doorstep in Belchertown. The little creature curled up on the front step during a storm. A man first waited, hoping the mother raccoon would return. But when she didn’t come back, he called animal control right away.
Officers of Belchertown Animal Control arrived. “The poor thing was too young to be alone. Its fur was all wet. It was shaking with fear and curling up by the door,” an officer said. The officers carefully picked up the tiny raccoon and took it to the Leyden Center for Wildlife Rehabilitation. There, it will get food, warmth, and care until it’s old enough to live in the wild again.
Photos of the raccoon standing on its hind legs became popular on Facebook. Its big eyes and wet fur made everyone fall in love with it. Thanks to the kind stranger who called for help and the quick work of animal control, this little raccoon now has a second chance at life.
