Violet Ammon is a sixteen-year-old student at Silverton High School.
One day, Violet was on a field trip with her class. The class was out shopping for families in need. While having lunch, she saw a woman who couldn’t breathe. Violet didn’t wait. She checked the woman, called for help, and used first aid (急救) skills to help her. The woman quickly got better!
Violet learned how to save lives in a class at her school. “I saw she needed help, so I helped,” Violet said. “I didn’t think much then, just acted.”
Violet’s teacher Ms. Ogle said: “We were out shopping to help poor families for the holidays. Many people saw the woman, but only Violet helped. She truly saved a life!” She is now called a heroine (女英雄).
Later, the Red Cross gave Violet a special award. At a school ceremony, she received a certificate while her teachers and friends cheered. Everyone at school is very ___▲___ of Violet.
