On August 8, Chinese athlete Lu Zhuoling won China’s first gold medal at the 2025 World Games. She competed in the women’s Taijiquan-Taijijian combined event. Her final score was 19.522 points.
In the morning, Lu did very well in Taijiquan. In the evening, she did great again in Taijijian. She won first place! Luo Zhining from Singapore got second place, and Chan Shu Wen from Malaysia got third place.
Lu Zhuoling comes from Guangzhou. She will turn 22 on August 22. This was her first time in an international competition. When she won, she cried happy tears and said, “This is my best birthday present!”
Earlier that day, the first gold medal of the 2025 World Games went to Riccardo Rancan from Switzerland. He won the men’s orienteering event, which is like a running treasure hunt with a map. He finished in 45 minutes and 22 seconds.
