Last November, Shi Ming won an important UFC match in Macau. She beat Feng Xiaocan and became the women’s champion. “After the fight, my phone showed over 500 messages! I also missed many calls,” Shi Ming said. “More people know me now. I’m glad they support me.”
Shi Ming is special because she works full-time as a Chinese medicine doctor and fights in UFC. People call her “the world’s strongest female doctor.” “I like the nickname,” she said. “Few Chinese fighters have full-time jobs like me. But overseas, many fighters work and train. It’s exciting!”
Shi’s coach Bagher explained: “When Shi Ming first started, she wasn’t strong or skilled — just an ordinary girl. Now she improves fast at everything, even her English!” He calls her a natural talent. Though she trains only 6 hours a week, she picks up skills faster than fighters training daily.
Shi Ming still works as a doctor. “I tried balancing my job and fighting. If I felt too tired, I’d train more. But now, I don’t want to quit being a doctor,” she said.
