Kokichi Akuzawa is a Japanese mountain climber. He reached the top of Japan’s Mount Fuji. He is the oldest person to do so. He is 102 years old.
Akuzawa made the trek (徒步旅行) with a group. His daughter was there. So were his granddaughter and her husband. Four friends came along, too. They started on August 3 and reached on August 5. The climb was not easy. “I really wanted to give up halfway,” Akuzawa said. “Reaching the top was tough. But my friends encouraged (鼓励) me, and it turned out well.”
